I don't know if this has been asked for before, but i have searched and cannot find it.

I would like to have the last post or 3 show on my homepage, with a link to either the post or the forum.
My homepage is html, not php or shtml.
Does such a link exist?

Search words were "homepage, last post, ssi, external link", but no joy.

My homepage is html, not php or shtml.

You can easily rename .html to .shtml and put server side includes into the file...

Would I have to change all the links I have back to my index.html?
or just delete it and hope any reference to index.html will go straight to index.shtml

Other option is to setup apache to parse html pages as php.

Better option is to use a .htaccess file to do a permanent redirect from index.html to index.php or index.shtml.

I think i prefer the 2nd option and use index.php.

Do I just write the html for redirect into my htaccess file and does it sit in the same dir as my index.html file? As you can see, I am not very familiar with coding .htaccess.

Thanks again for the help
