In a different forum, (jjr512.com - non YaBB), there's a version of Tetris you can play, and high scores are recorded by user name.

This just seems like a really good idea but I really wouldn't know where to start

putting a javascript/applet game in your forum is not hard
the harder thing is to record the highscore
maybe the guy coded the game himself or the game script produces highscore output

i thought of this earlier (not exactly tetris) but to have a game, and have it record the high scores... gives something for members to do when its slow...

any ideas on what scripting would be needed for this?

I did a little searching for you guys... They moved it to a new location at www.jjr512.com/proarcade.php. You will see a Tetris link on that page.

It would be an AWESOME idea to have games that could be incorporated into the community.  It would be even better to have these games integrated into the community totally, for instance keeping high scores and having the profiles of the winners, etc...

I use gamehouse games to provide games on my forum.  Adding the button isn't really all that hard and the actual game page isn't hosted on your site, it's on gamehouses server.  The template for their site can be set so that it looks like it's part of your site though.  (did that make any sense?)

You can see what it looks like here

You can use use

User name: tester
Passwrod: test

to view it.
