Search question

Another search question. Looking for all my posts in the installer board, looking for a specific answer. Know its in this board however not in which thread. So I entered the search terms below, and got *9* results (which I suppose is a little wrong). Is it a search problem or do I have to enter different search terms?

Well did those 9 posts have a *?

Do something like search for a three letter combination...

4 of the 9 results do contain one or more "*", the other 5 dont. I am trying to find all my posts in the installer board.

Yes I am looking for my post. Look into the 1st post of this thread, I posted a screenprint of my search entries there.

I think you have to select "posted in by someone" not "all members"...

Replacing the "*" by "som*" in the search term did the following: 0 results.

However replacing the "*" by "some" gives 14 results.

BTW, I think the search command should by default be set to "Any Poster".  I know it doesn't matter as much on this board because you don't have guess posting, but on boards that do, it makes it so lots of people will miss some post, and not understand why.

Done, gives me the same 9 results. Looks like the wildcard "*" is not working. I tried to replace by a dot ".", same result.

When I replace the "*" by empty field and select "posted in by someone" I get zero results.

Yes, now its better, thanks. Searching for common characters "a" or "e" gives 81 results. Not sure if those are all, all but one are from the year 2002. But found now my post.

Yes, that's the only negative thing. You have to search after common characters...

Try 800 days. Or 12301941. ;D

Strange is, that my search in the 1st post gives 5 results not containing a "*" (neither in subject nor in text).
