Hello Guys,

I have a few questions regarding yabb 2.0 se :
- When will it come out ?
- Are you already began coding on it ?
- Will it be coded from scratch ?
- Is there gonna be another theme for it ?
- Any features implented yet that you already know of or that are on the to do list ?

Now I have a few suggestions for version 2.0 :
- Make skinning more easier
- Make a better admin cp, like vB or IBF (invisionboard.com) has
- Add more features
- Take another theme

Don't know yet.

Yes.

Not entirely although major sections have been rewritten. It wasn't take from a blank page and started though.

We're looking at releasing it with more than one theme.

Advanced PM system, advanced member permissions system, revamped admin section with more control, etc.

Not sure how much easier it can get than replacing a single page to change the template. Some people like it, some people don't. Same goes for other forums.

Not sure what makes it better, perhaps you could expand on that?

At the admin cp i mean a different page (so a new page that opens, new screen) and then like frame (options) on the left and on the right the big page where you can change options etc.

Do you think yabb 2.0 will come out this year ?

I still don't see the huge difference in admin Cp that you're explaining...however, the SE 2 admin area is revamped and makes use of a lot of javascript and pop up windows.

It won't be released before 2003 no. When Joseph and I were working on it back in April/May I thought it would have been done by July but right after that we both had other obligations...

Hehe, so you were so busy you couldn't work on it and now it is lieying there already for 4 months or something :P. Well just if it's before summer 2003 it's ok ^_^

No, no, there are some good guys working on things but it's been horribly quiet lately...

Mephidman and Compuart did a large chunk or two of code and Greg completed the schema.

What he means is a framed admin center, Invision Board, phpBB, and I beleive vBulletin(not 100% shure since I wasn't about to pay for it... but the lite version had one) have framed admin panels... I personally think the frames are annoying(and not all browsers work properly with them). I like the way the YaBBSE admin center looks/works.

Anyway, with the template system they have you can make a framed admin center(the html is all changeable and is not within the source files) this will make it very easy to change any html anywhere on the board. YSE2 should be pretty awesome when it is complete.

Yes it will be, and YaBBSE2 will be a complete rewrite of YaBBSE.

That would be need but it's not that cool that currently nobody is working on it ... you have to know that PHPBB2 and invisionboard are good concuration ...

Anyway, phpBB 2 took quite some time to come out. If I'm not mistaken it was over a year...

Yes i did mend that, my english isn't that good :P ...... I tought nobody was working on it ... Well tough they were working a year on it, they had released it after a year, i don't see that coming here :P
