I'm not sure if this has been said before but it would be nice if someone would make a mod which would add little images to the board index next to each board and by clicking the little images you could maybe add a new topic, new poll, mark that board read or go to the newest post on that particular board. I think some board had this feature but can't remember which.

The problem with this is it will make the board index a lot more cluttered.  It will become much wider and only reduce one click for those lazy users.

I don't know about that because the icons don't have to be big. Damn, I can't remember where I saw that but the idea was that the icon was similar to this and there were three icons like that and they were next to the board name and description. They won't take space next to nothing that way.
