Board Size 160MB?

I have had my board up for a week now. There are 3500 posts and 300 members. My isp is reporting the Database to be around 160MB. Does this sound right? Anyway to shrink this size down? I would rather not have to delete posts monthly(I was hoping to save at least 6 months) but I only have a 300MB limit. Please advise, thanks!

Your ISP is on crack LOL there is no way your database can be that big.  At least, not because of YaBB SE - are you sure you're not running any other database software?

For example, the yabb.info database is only 23.1 mb with over 37,000 posts and over 2,000 members.

if you have access to phpmyadmin... dump your db in a *.sql file and you know the approx. size of your db!

* Greg tries to make sense of the confused messages

Site size: That's the space it takes up on disk.
Bandwidth: That's the amount of data sent along the lines to the people browsing the forums.

If your site is busy then it may be using 6 Gb of bandwidth a month - in this case you are a victim of your success!

The DB should be nowhere near that size!

I found the problem. Thanks for all of your help. It turns out that the log files because of the forum took up 150megs with a week :( But we set it now to just keep them for 3 days.

That would make sense - I had to ask my host to do the same yesterday as the forum (which only 7 people use - it's for our Computer Science Society) use has generated a 12MB log file in just 3 weeks! :D
