Hi,

I'm having problems with the initial home page of my site...

some people report that the site can take up to 30 seconds before anything starts to download... others, like me feel that the files start to download almost instantly...

Its not that the graphics are taking too long to download... it would appear to be stalling for some reason.... from everybody once they have the initial page starting to load it screams along..

Can anyone put any light on this?

I had the same problem today but it wasn't that bad. It seemed that all my database connections were taking long and after it connected it went smoothly. It happened both in YaBB SE and PHPMyAdmin.

hmmm sorry to hear that :-| sounds like a temp db server issue with your web host...

my issue isnt mysql related at all

(I forgot to post the link last time)  :-[

Hi Nosie,

I just accessed your site, and it seems fine....loaded instantly.

I have a 128k cable connection now, but when I was on AOL, I always ran into problems like yours :(

it may not have been your site, it may have been your users ISP's.

well I was kinda thinking/hoping that..... but I'm not sure

I think its NTL that one user was using ... hmmm if you live in the uk with NTL in £3 Billion in debt then I guess that would explain a lot ;)

I am in the UK with NTL and a 28.8 modem (ewwwww I know) and it loaded fine and dandy this end  :-\

I have to profusely apologise to NTL tho....

it would appear to be Brittish Telecom (BT Internet) that my users are using..... hmmmmm
