Installer error step 4 (can't read yse130.sql )

I'm having problems installing yabb. At first I couldnt get it working with a database that wasn't on the localhost, so I set up mysql on localhost, got all the passwords and stuff set up right, and it stopped giving me errors about not being able to open the database connection. However, now I get this message below (I used links as the browser; when I tried using Internet Explorer I didn't see any errors because it was too busy downloading the many dozens of megabytes of warning messages like the ones following):

So why isn't the installer creating this yse130.sql file that its looking for? I downloaded the installer (not the safe version) from the website today, several times, and its still not working. Doesn't create that file so all the rest of the code after it just prints out warning messages till I'm out of memory and swap space.

this *.ya file is a zipped file where all your needed files are inside!

make sure your *.ya file is uploaded in binary and chmod to 666 and the directory (yabbse or what ever you have choiced as yabb-folder) where the files *.ya and install.php are inside have to chmod to 777!

if your server runs in safe mode you have to use the safe mode version of yabbse!

I have ssh running on the host, and i untarred the files there, so I'm pretty certain the file could not have gotten corrupted by me. I chmod'ed it to 666 as you suggested, but still got the same error message. The directory where I put the files is chmod 777.

I'm not running in safe mode, so that's not an issue here. But I still cannot get past step 4.

I've seen several other reports of the install "hanging" on step 4. Since that's what it appeared to do when I ran the install from IE, it looks like I'm not the only one having a problem like this. It was only when I tried running the install in the links browser that I saw it wasn't hung, but printing out megabytes and megabytes of warnings.

if your server can´t unpack the *.ya file so use the safe mode version (yet unpacked files)!

i think that will be the best solution!

ok, using the safe mode version install worked, but whatever issue caused my problem still exists, and people are still going to get stuck by it....

any people have probs with the *.ya version , cause the host where the will install yabbse doesn´t allow chmod per script!
