member count on stats page

When I first launched my site, I created some bogus members to test it out.  Since then I have deleted them.  My member count on the index page is correct, but on my stats page, it lists more members then we actually have since its counting ones I have deleted.  Is there anyway to fix this?

The member count is not created dynamically.  it increments when someone is created and doesn't decrement when one is removed...

Is the total for the stats page kept in the database?  or where could I find it to edit it?

It adds the values in the log_activity table.  So you could subtract some members from one of those rows.
