Is it possible to have a notification email sent to a user or moderator, when somebody posts in a certain board?

Hi.

I'm to new to yabb to say, if this solution works here, too. But using an other discussion board we implemented an automatic mail notification using

 a) a mailing list where interested people could subscribe to

 b) a named unix-pipe (see 'man mknod') where new topics were written to by the boards automatic export function

 c) a background process implemented by a shell-skript reading from the named pipe as input gets availlable and sending its contents to the mailing list. (after sending the mail the shell skript should execute itself again waiting for the next topic)

If it works here to depends mainly, if theres a feature in yabb, that automatically writes new topics to the filesystem.

If you need more details, feel free to contact me by email.

Hope that helps a bit!
