Board Delted, How to reupload the Backup ?

Hey guys...

my account was deleted from my ISP, however the night before i did a full backup of the MySQL database...  at the time i was running YaBB SE 1.1.0

so what is the order of reinstalling the board, I have the mysql database backed up as one file so im guessing it just re-extracts itself...

any help would be great !

and another sneaky question... is it possible to go straight to YaBB SE 1.3 or since the database was from YaBB SE 1.1.0  should i get that up first then upgrade ?

Hi,

Its ok to install 1.3 first and then import the 1.1.0 database, just remember to run the upgrade.php file after you import the database!! thats what I did, and it works fine.

I take it you have access to PHPMyAdmin? If thats how you backed up your yabb data then all you need to do is go backinto PHPMyAdmin and create a database,
then select the new database by clicking on its name on the left - find the button that says load from file, click it, select your downloaded file and then click go!

that should be it - as long as oyu downloaded the 'data and structure' you should be ok.

Good Luck.

It's very simple...in phpmyadmin, there is an area where you can create a new database.  once you've created that database, click on it's name.  on the right hand site will be a text box if you scroll down.  Here you paste your sql file in or you can browse to it.

Click the GO button and it will work.

if you already installed 1.3.0, comment out all CREATE table statements.

What I did form 1.1.0 to 1.3.0:

1. Backup mySQL
2. Delete ALL board files (1.1.0)
3. Remove ALL yabb tables
4. Install normally
5. remove CREATE TABLE statements
6. import mySQL

make sure your backup used extended inserts though, so it all goes in in the right place :D
