Just wondering if YaBB SE has the same problem as the Perl version of YaBB. My server sometimes can't handle the load and messages are always disappearing  :P...

Short answer: No :)
Longer answer: Since we use mySQL you technically shouldn't have any lost threads ever.  of course you are always suggested to backup your database as with all normal data but you won't all of a sudden start missing threads.
