I've just found out that no one is able to register at my forum, I have it set for the user to supply their own password.

Anyone have any answers?

Sorry, I was in a panic state :) still am really  ::)

Right the sequence works ok , after the form is sent you get:

Success! You are now a member of the Forum.

                                   Register
                                                        LOGIN

If you click on login or fill in ID and password below this message you get:

An Error Has Occurred!

                    Username does not exist. - *username*: *password*

However the registration does show on the Statistics Center!!!

I am just going to try the send password login

Right have tried that

and have got the same problem

This has had a fix posted and also in the bug tracker:

http://www.yabb.info/bugs/view_bug_page.php?f_id=0000002

In Register.php on line 235 look for:

<td align=center colspan=2><input type=submit value="$txt[34]"></td>
Change it to:

<td align=center colspan=2><input type=submit value="$txt[34]"></form></td>

Huh?  You're right, doesn't have any relevance...

Did the fix work for you or not?

No it didn't work I allready put it in, thought it was that at first and took it out but it didn't make any difference, but this is totally different is it not, That fix was for the use of the login button and did not effect the ID+Pass login on the bottom of the page

The reason I posted the membership #s is that I wondered if a limit could be imposed on the numbers of members?

You make no sense whatsoever, do you know what you're talking about?!?

Above you say that when someone registers, they try to login but it says username does not exist but it does register in the statistics center.

They get the error message because you need to apply that fix.

I'm not trying to annoy you or anything :)

I put the fix in when I first read it, which would have been about 4 days ago, after the last person registered in the forum, hence my thought that it may be that that caused my problem, I have since put it back in.

&nbsp;</td>
        <td><font size=2><b>$txt[497]:</b></font></td>
        <td><font size=2><input type=text name="cookielength" size=4 value="$Cookie_Length">
        <td><font size=2><b>$txt[508]:</B></font></td>
        <td><font size=2><input type=checkbox name="cookieneverexp"></font></td> &nbsp;</font></td>
        <td align=center colspan=2><input type=submit value="$txt[34]"></form></td>
      </tr>
    </table>

Three people have registered since the upgrade, so I haven't always had the problem.

I have made other tweaks to my scripts, mostly english.lng  and am trying to rack my brain what I have done where that may have caused it.

The changes in the english.lng were changing YaBB to the name of my forum (txt: 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 208, 209, 347, 424, 520, 569, 570, 709, 611, 645, 671, 677, 682 & 697)
