converting member name problem

i recently installed yabb se 1.3 and then moved my original yabb 1 gold files from the cgi-bin to a subdirectory in the yabb se directory.  i used converter and it seems to have worked for the most part (no errors in setup).  all of the messages are there, but the majority of them (all but mine and the guest posts) have blank authors (it says "posted by     ") and i'm not sure how to get them back?  has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know a solution?  thanks in advance.

just a little update: no member data is transferred in the upgrade from YaBB 1 Gold SP 1.1 to YaBB SE 1.3.  all of the member names get moved over, but they lose all of their information (name, profile, post info, etc.)  if noone else has had this problem, is there at least a way to manually move over this information from Gold to SE?  any help would be greatly appreciated.  thanks!

I'm about to start converting. Unfortunately I couldn't find much information about it.

I've got 2 questions about it. One of them is kind of similar to the one above:

1) To convert my YaBB 1 Gold Release, I just put all of the old files from my YaBB 1 Gold directory in a subdirectory in my YaBB SE directory, if I'm not mistaken. Should I give the subdirectory in YaBB SE a specific name or can I just choose one?

2) I've read that I can't convert my members because I've installed the Password Encryption mod on my YaBB 1 Gold. Is there a way to convert them manually?
