well now I'm not sure. I thought caching was the storing of what your viewing is stored on your local hardrive/windows internet temp directory.

If this were true then disabling cache output on my YabbSE in theory would output no info to my local hardrive?

however all images are at least still being cached locally. so thats why I asked what it was that disabling cache output actually does.

If you disable caching, all board files, images included, will load again whenever a link in your board is clicked. This will decrease the speed of your board a lot.

exactly what andrea said. and you are right on your definition of caching.

so everytime you visit your board you download everything over again and again and again.
