no automatic register mod

Ok on my board I want to allow anyone to read anything.  I want people to know what they are signing up for.  I also want to keep folk to be able to register but not able to use their account till an admin accepts the application.

If this is something supported in the script already then please forgive me for not seeing it an point me to the way to do that.

another thing you can possibly add to this (or maybe it is just too different) is for a user to have a certain number of posts before they can start a new topic. they can respond to the exiting ones all they want, but they have to have at least, say, ten posts to actually be able to start something new.

it's a good way to get people to use the search or get a feel for the users of the forum.

I've seen this at vBulletin.org and it made me angry that I cannot start a topic because I am a loser "rookie" on the board.  I think it would drive people from your board by making them feel inferior.  Maybe it would lead to a smaller board, but with quality users as well?  hmmm...
