Installer Help

I need some help with the installer. I finally got it to work after I installed it in non-safe mode. Anyway, it occasionally gives me these warnings:

Warning: Undefined offset: 1 in HIDDEN\install.php on line 85

Most of the times, it's in the same install.php, but on different lines.

Anyway, it installs the files fine, then I click Proceed, and it takes me to a form to fill out MySQL variables, which I don't know, and my host hasn't responded to me about. I though the forum system ran on PHP alone, and I wouldn't have to mess with MySQL, I guess I'm wrong, or is there a way to make it run without it?

Hello, I had a lot of problems too ....

What I can say is (also considering noone has answered to you yet) ...

Yabb SE requires also a database in order to work ... that database runs on MySQL.

This means you need it and I guess in no way you could use Yabb without it since all forum data are contained in the database.

I have Karma 0 I hope I'll make it up helping out !!!

Thanks for your help, I asked the assistant network admin and he said I would need MySQL to run it. The problem left is that MySQL exists on the server, but the Head Network Admin needs to set up an account for it or otherwise give me the information so that I can complete the installation. ::Shrugs:: Who knows when that'll be.

Also, my install keeps giving me warning notices, they haven't adversly affected the so far successful installation (I'm only to the point where I need to input the MySQL data, though) but they show up every now and then, should I do something to prevent them from coming up? Or will they just do nothing even if I let them show up?

They generally are something like this:

Warning: Undefined offset: 1 in HIDDEN\install.php on line 85

On different lines, it complains about different undefined variables. Should I worry about this?

The warnings should be ok...sounds like the error reporting is a little high...
