Using Yabb's login and groups to control access to external pages

Hello Folks,
Here is an idea to throw out.

I think it would be cool to utilize Yabb's verfication and login procedures to control access to other pages on the website.

For instance, say you have created a member group called "Super Member.  You have a page with files, info or whatever that you only want someone with the "Super Member" tag to be able to access.

Additionally, the ability to add multiple pages or sections like this using the admin would be great.  For instance, "manage pages" link in admin.  When you click on it you go to a page where you can add/edit/del these "extra" pages.  You can add member groups required in order to access, editor permissions (can moderators edit this page, yes or no?, Want just a certain person or persons able to edit this page, list users).  In addition adding the ability for the "editors" to manage (upload, del) files (pics, files, etc.) would be needed.

Ideas?  Input?

I'm writing this for my website (due to be launched soon) and although it's pretty customised (i.e. hard for other people to use on their sites) I could make it more generic and release it. Currently I have my system load in the cookie, get the logged in user and get from the database their user level. If their group is "Staff Member" they can access an admin page where they can post content on the site, etc. If they are "Administrator" then they can delete or validate content for the site.

Mach 8,
Sounds great.  I would love a copy if you're willing to share it.  I'm so glad to hear someone besides my self has an interest in such a thing!

Sammenhaeng,
You're right it is a lot of work, but a lot of it is already built in (cookies, member groups, verification).  The trick is writing the "extras" like the admin mod you would need and so forth.
