error on step 3--->4

I enter the db name, user, pass, on step 3 and clicked on the proceed buton.
but nothing happens on my monitor. if I check the database, I can see that the script created 6 fields on the db:

yabbse_banned
yabbse_boards    
yabbse_categories    
yabbse_censor
yabbse_instant_messages
yabbse_log_banned  

and about 3 minutes after, a 500 error page shows on iexplore.
well, so I created a new db and did
mysql yabbse2 < yabb.sql
then I tried to load index.php, and I get the following error msgs on apache:

and a lot of others. I also get the following error when loading the index.php file, on internet explorer (it shows the default template of yabb and so):

An Error Has Occurred!

2: Supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource

The warning messages can be easily fixed by changing the error reporting in php.ini.  I don't have what it needs to be changed to right now as it got lost recently but I'm sure someone will add it here

yep, I know...
but the matter is that the step 3 did not ended, I installed by hand the yabb.sql file and the board does not run...
of course I edited settings.php and changed what is needed (db data, paths...), I forgot to mention it before

Looks like it died around log_clicks.  Some versions of mySQL were accepting while others weren't.  Do you have a log_clicks table?

on the first DB (the one filled by the install script that only has 6 tables) there´s no log_clicks.
but on the second db (which I filled on command line) yes, it is
