Hey guys, I want to install the board on a server that supports all the crap, but I want to use an outside MySQL server. The problem is, i keep getting this error, no matter what I do!

YaBB SE Installer
Cannot use database dtbs, connection to server succeeded by the way.  

I don't get it, this only happens if I type in the ip adress of the server, if i type "localhost" everything seems to be fine!!? But, becouse I'm installing the board on another host, typing "localhost" won't do any good.


Any suggestions?

you cant use that name. most hosts limit you to one database and its name is usaully the username you get.

dbuser: billybob
dbpass: 135792
dbname: billybob

What should i fill in @ the "server adress" section?

the IP or domain name if mySQL isnt local if it is on the same server which most are, localhost always works.

Yes I did, I run a mysql server on my own server (80.60.188.207) but I can't install it in any database if I type in 80.60.188.207..altough it says it can connect with the mysql server  :'(

(the phpboard is hosted somewhere else...)

Maybe someone could send me the info to a mysql database he/she doesn't use, I'd be very greatful...please email it to [email protected] ...  ::)
