I just need a button that links to another page...

I know the html code.. but everytime that I paste it before the $img[home] in subs.php
I get a parse error in index.php (something with clicklog)and an error in subs.php...

<a href="http://www.klaive.com/smile/smiles2.htm><img src="http://www.klaive.com/yabbsec/YaBBImages/smileys.gif" alt="Smileys"></a>$menusep is what I paste after
<a href=\"$scripturl\">$img[home]</a>$menusep<a href=\"$helpfile\" target=_blank>$img[help]</a>$menusep
What am I doing wrong?

well first of all, in the URL you missed the closing quote, and you need to escape all those double quotes.  So paste in

<a href=\"http://www.klaive.com/smile/smiles2.htm\"><img src=\"http://www.klaive.com/yabbsec/YaBBImages/smileys.gif\" alt=\"Smileys\"></a>$menusep
