Preview Messages?

Maybe this is already an available mod and I don't know how to check for it, but I'd like to see the ability of the administrator to preview messages before they are made publicly available.  (I'm interested in making the board as safe as possible to protect children from improper messages.)

I am finishing up a mod which will allow you to moderate posts from restricted members. (ie approve/delete posts them before they become publicly available). When I release it in a few days it would be very easy to adapt it to your needs. Basically - just make it so by default everyone is moderated and you can switch it off on a case by case basis.

Sounds great!  I'm a newbie here, and I'm just getting YaBB up and running, and your mod sounds exactly like what I was hoping for!

I'm a Perl novice, however (even the word "novice" is an exaggeration of my abilities), so I hope that Perl knowledge is not required to make the changes.  I've been able to get YaBB running, but only with a lot of help from new friends here on the forum.  I've never worked with mods, so I may need some hand-holding there as well.

Hi, I just posted a beta of said mod in completed mods board - it's only a beta so bear that in mind

If you want everyone to be moderated you just need to edit the postmoddb.php file included in the zip I posted. Find where it says about entering a column into {db_prefix}members and where it sets the default value to 0 change it to 2. (its the column called WARNINGS)

I wouldn't recommend doing that until I know there are no serious bugs in it though

PS - yabbse doesn't use perl but PHP instead. PHP is *much* easier to pick up that cgi. Also YABB SE is a very well written forum in that the source code is fairly easy to follow

Well, my confusion of Perl with php shows just how little I know about either!  (I don't even know what "SE" in YABB SE stands for!)

Where is the "completed mods board" (since it appears to be different from the "BoardMod project"), and what does "in the middle" mean?  "In the middle" of what?

Sorry to be so tiresome, but what is intuitive to someone who has been around long enough to leave 500+ messages is not intuitive to a "Noobie" who probably never visited this Web site before a day or two ago.  So please forgive me if my questions seem to have answers that are to you obvious.
