E-mail accounts along with profiles

Here's an idea I have... for those of us who have hosting packages with unlimited e-mail accounts... how about a feature that creates an e-mail account for a user when he makes the account?  and the e-mail address would be [email protected] ...

This would be a great way of keeping users within the community if they have their own e-mail address at your site...

I think that would be a very cool idea!

The only problem I see is how to create the accounts as it probably depends on how you create them with your host... also - you will need to be able to police how much space people use on it etc... certainly an interesting idea

hmm.. you could probably make yabbse accounts work with an external free email service, the problem with that is that you have to change your MX (was that the name?) record for the domain and you won't be able to use your normal email anymore, only the one they service

hosting the email accounts yourself will cost you a lot, because of the bandwidth and hdd used, but you could just setup email redirections, which would cost you nothing... for something like this you'd need a webhost with something like cpanel, that gives you control over that kind of things

I don't know if any of these two can be combined with the yabbse registration process though, but I thought I'd mention it

How about making a simple email alias or email forwarding account automatically?  Very little bandwidth and easy to make.
