Only specified users can post to a certain category

Dont suppose some kind person could create a mod too enable only specified members to post to a certain board?

Checked out allowed user mod but I need everyone else to be able to view the t hreads.

Thought of making the select group moderators and making the board an announcment group and locking the threads(so standard users cant reply), which would work but the users could edit other peoples posts .

Dont suppose theres a better way th ats easilly modded is there?

better user, membergroup, board, cat permission should be in 1.6.0
meanwhile, u can either make some changes to the allowed user mod, or make changes in announcement board code...
the second one, i think, will be easier, check nemesis' mod for reporter hack

Will take a look at modifying allowed user. Bout time I did something for myself

sorted, took inspiration from the reporter mod and added the check for announcments board to the reply part of post.php.
