I am not very much in the mood to make this right now as I am pretty busy. Instead of just a color helper, you could make a script that would help people with everything, including their template design. It would be pretty easy. Using a popup window (or frame). You would have a form that would put info to $_SESSION. In template_header() you would get that info from $_SESSION instead of some template file.

OR another way is to just make a bunch of template files, pass the template id in $_GET and baddaboom, baddabing.

Either way would work well.
