Could not connect to smtp host : 0 :

As the topic states, when I'm trying to use certain features of the e-mail service of the YaBBSE 1.5.2 forum I get this error message. I have no problems at all for posting or using IM, so I guess the problem only comes when the forum tries to send a "normal" e-mail. I've been able to check this limitation when trying to send an e-mail to a group of users (that's the place where I got the error message)

The forum is allocated in one server and the mysql database is placed in another, so I guess that's the problem. Under "mod settings" no matter what option I choose, smtp or sendmail, no one works. Besides, when I choose sendmail, the system NEVER mantains that option and when I reload the page smtp is always the choice selected.

I do own an smtp server, and I try to indicate the system to use it with no success. I've manually modified Settings.php and Admin.php modifying the default "127.0.01" for the IP of my smtp server.

Any ideas or solutions?

Thanks a lot in advance.

I've been able to solve my problem  ;D

My smtp server needs authentification, but YaBBSE have no option to do so, so I've modified the settings of my smtp server and now it sends the mails coming from the domain and also from the IP where I have the MySQL database.

Hope this help others!

PS: If don't have direct access to your smtp server, then you should ask your webmaster do that modification (allow the outcome messages from your MySQL with no authentification)

Okay, first off... fix your mail server QUICK!  It's about to be blacklisted and then no one will get mail from it.

Second, upgrade to 1.5.x.  It will work.... just put your password in.
