I have been going nuts installing cool features for my members, and until now, haven't had any major slowdowns as a result. Yesterday, after I installed the Advanced IM system and the Select Members in IM mod, I noticed that the board now takes longer to load (a couple seconds as compared to almost "instantly" - I have broadband). Anyway, here's what mods I have installed:
AdvIM
Select Members in IM
Notify on New IM
Integrated Chat
MemberMap
Memberlist Plus
Add More Smilies
Now Listening To

My board is 1.51RC1B45... Any ideas as to what might be slowing it down or how to fix this? http://forum.oldiesmann.us

Have you tried my Remove Click Log mod?

It's probably the only mod you can *add* that will speed up your board - so far.

I had something similar a few weeks ago on my board and found that removing all the space lines (that came from somewhere...?) in the template file resolved the problem and my board returned to its previous speed...

Don't ask why.....?

Well, just removing the extra text helped speed it up. I enabled the news fader now that I've figured it out (don't know why it took me so long), but the board really isn't that much slower. I haven't removed the click log thing because I'm happy with the current speed. I can always set the click log time to a smaller interval if the board becomes too slow.

Changing the click log interval doesn't help at all.  That number just controls how often it deletes it.

The click log makes a request every time anyone comes to your page.... removing it can speed things up a lot.
