Installation problem: cannot create database

I'm trying to install yabbse, I got past the install.php page that asks for username, password etc, but then it says: "Cannot use database yabbse, connection to server succeeded by the way."

I tried using different names for the database but no matter what I change the name to it says the same thing. Is this a problem with the server or with the installation files?

it's better if u as your host about your database name
or maybe if u have a Control Panel, u can create a new database there...

The database is a MySQL thing.  The installer can *try* to create one for you, but usually it won't be able to.

If you don't have CPanel, your database is probably the same as your username.

If you do, go into the MySQL part of it, and create a new user and new database.  Assign the new user to the database, and you are set.
