[Alpha 1.5.1] 'Fortunes' Mod 0.9.1

This mod adds a new tag for use in messages (but is more suited to sigs) that will display a random quote from a database. Each quote in the DB can be given a 'class' identifier to allow two or more different quote-sets to exist simultaneously.

Usage :

[fortune]  : will select a quote at random from the entire database.
[fortune class=xxx] : will select a quote from a subset of the database.

There is currently no front-end for editing the database entries (I am still trying to decide on the best way to do it). But it is easy enough to insert quotes if you can modify the MySQL database directly.

There is also a seperate package which will populate the database with a load of quotes from the great Iraqi Information Minister*

I have extracted the files & zipped them all up.

Unfortunatley, I do not know boardmod file-format, but I can't see translating from Yabbpack .mod format being any stretch of your abilities.

The Fortunes091.php file set's up the database table, and the mss-quotes.php file populates it with the man's fabulous statements of truth

If you need any help, just let me know.

If you are looking to put it into Supermod, I'm not gonna stop you, but would advise against it at the mo. As mentioned, there's no straghtforward way of modifying the database -- I've rushed it out (as alpha) while it's still topical
