Valid HTML and CSS

I noticed that YaBB is NOT HTML and CSS valid (although it still display the Valid HTML and CSS logo).

I would like to see a really HTML and CSS valid Yabb SE as I feel that it is not appropriate to display the logos when it still does not valid.

Is there any technical reasons that prevent it from being valid?

actually the latest version (1.5.1RC1) is XHTML compliant already :)
this forum is using an older version though

if u find a page that's not XHTML compliant in the latest build, u can just report it

My understanding (since I brought up this point over a year ago and wouldn't have installed YaBB SE if I hadn't got the right answer) is that it's what's been *added* to this site and not the default YaBB SE that's the problem (mine validates!). But I agree that the 'valid' links shouldn't be used here until the pages comply.

PS (@Spaceman Spiff) This forum was recently upgraded (in so far as it 'belongs' to any YaBB SE build) to 1.5.1, but it's never been the production code that's been the problem here.

I also believe the latest build is XHTML compliant, at least to 99%.

And as far as I know, YaBB SE has always been CSS level 2 compliant...

this forum is not 100% YSE 1.5.1RC1 ;)
and the template should be changed using the XHTML validation, not HTML 4.01

::) ;)

And the template for this forum is still:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

With some upper-case tags and without closed <br> and <img> tags etc. But I'd like to see the XHTML version here too! :)
