Decided to sort out a 1.5 test board today, imported an old backup (about 2 weeks old) and converted.

Enabled the time taken to create page mod on the 1.5 board and uncommented the 2 lines in subs.php on the 1.4.1 board to display the time taken to generate pages on that.

I found that

-on average, the 1.5 board was faster generating the board index
-on average the 1.5 board was faster generating the message index.
-every single refresh of a thread, the 1.41 board is at least twice as fast to create the page

This is viewing the same thread on the boards, bearing in mind the 1.4.1 board now has 2000+ more posts than the 1.5 board to bog it down a bit much.. Is this finding an exception to the rule or is 1.5 slower at displaying threads?

For some reason the 1.4.1 board is showing negative values on some page loads?

Specific areas of optimization were made in BoardIndex and MessageIndex. The others were left as is for now...

So why is 1.5 slower at generating threads?
Or is the time counter on 1.4 broke, considering it had a few -ve values there.

I don't think 1.4.1 has an accurate way of measuring the time to load. Anyway, changes are being made constantly.
