Can someone please post a copy of the new 1.5 template (ie what you'd see on an unaltered board when you 'edit your forum template')?

I'd like to cross-check it with my own, which hasn't been updated for the best part of a year, but that's kinda hard when (by accident or design?) it wasn't included in my yabbse_1-5-0_upgrade.zip package! Since, AFAIK, CSS classes etc. have been added/changed since I last altered mine, I must be missing something...

Thanks
P

PS My previous upgrade package (1-4-0) included a template, but not 1-5-0 (just checked).

PS More feedback...

Fairly trivial, but font names containing whitespace should be quoted for CSS, so "Courier New" and "Times New Roman".

I fixed that in mine, as well as shrinking the file etc.

I thought you would wanted the unaltered one, however.  (plus mine has all kinds of other junk in it)

I did, so thanks again (and I realise the fonts in the default version have probably always been specified like that), but I thought it was worth a mention...

So does mine (if my site menu, table summaries and comments on which nesting tables I've removed count as junk), but my CSS has long since been hived off to a separate style sheet. So I have to stick the two up side by side and take a good look!

Use WinDiff - made by Microsoft for programmers.  (which is why I use it a lot, although it's UGLY)

[edit: WinDiff can be found either by running "windiff" in Start->Run or at microsoft.com]

Perhaps someone had a reason for the following, but why:

  • verdana, arial, helvetica, serif for most of the font-families, when sans-serif would have been so much more logical?
  • arial, verdana, helvetica, serif for .quote, when helvetica should also have come before verdana if arial was moved for a purpose (like specifying the narrower fonts first)?
  • courier new, helvetica, times new roman, serif for .code, when monospace is the obvious generic font family?
PS So it'll always be a good choice *because* of its availability, but have you all read The Scourge of Arial? ;)
