Ignore Poster Mod

Is there a mod where a user can create a list of posters he wishes to ignore? (Not topics or IMs)

The situation is this. I run a board that has one really bad troll. Our policy normally is to not ban folks, but this idiot will hijack good threads and try and get us to move them to the inferno. (Our place for free-for-all flamefests)

What I'd like to have is the ability for a user to create a list of people they would just like to ignore. No posts by this user would show up at all. This mod should also shut down the ability of the ignored person to send IMs to anyone that has the ignored user on their ignore list.

Does something like this exist?

I wrote something like this for my board, basically it just uses the ignore list from your IM preferences. I never released it as a mod though.

If nothing else, can you give me an idea how difficult it was to do?

You could use the mute user mod which just wouldn't allow him to post.

That sounds better since if some people allow his posts to be visible and respond to them, others may ignore him and see very odd one-sided flame wars against a member whos's posts don't show up.  Making an even more annoying thread... just a thought.

instead of showing his post you could make it so that it just shows user blocked click here to un block or something along those lines
