Some ideas (help!)

I am trying to do some modifications, yet i haven´t been able to see any results due to my little knowledge :/

here are the ideas and the things i'm in need of for the forum:

1.- Grasp the date and turn it into something different, or have it give some output depending on a range; for example 'from date X to date Y, display spring; from date P to date Q, display winter'

2.- I need to add a field in the profile where members can choose beween two given membergroups they will want to be in. I have tried and add a field, but i seem not to affect the DB properly. Besides, can it be done to effectively change membergroup without having the admin change it manually afterwards??

3.- The same thing, but to add the field directly into the REGISTER part.

Where did you want this to be displayed? In messages or boardindex?

Have you added the field to their Profile.php page? If so, should be fairly easy to set it up to save to the database as well.

i wanted it displayed in board index.

i managed to add a field, i showed in the profile but couldn´t make it save anything to the DB.

Can a couple of membergroups be chosen from the profile itself, then?

If someone would help me with the coding of these, it would be gratly appreciated!
