Just a follow-up. The Web host I've been talking to has given me permission to try out YaBB-SE on their server. They said the new version looks much better than the old and they don't expect problems, though they will monitor it.

For some reason, the download links on this site didn't work for me, but I'm downloading it now from SourceForge.net.

I'm a little nervous about installing something that still has some bugs because I haven't administered a YaBB forum before. If something goes wrong, I won't know if it's me or it. How stable is this version? Do you recommend it for a newbie?

It should be bug free.  There are a few things that were found this morning.  One 1.4.1 upgrades didn't work.  Also one of the packages is missing the attachments folder.  I would try it and if you need help let us know.

Apparently the Web page was being updated right when I was clicking on the links, because when I went back and looked again, 1.4.1 was no longer there and it said that 1.5.0 was the current release.

Is there a list of the changes in 1.5.0 somewhere? I couldn't find one.

Thanks, I found the post.

FYI (to whoever takes care of these things), the download links are still not working. When you click on a link, you get the "thanks for downloading" page, but no opportunity to download. I had to go to sourceforge.net to actually download.

They worked for me - they popped up a new window with a sourceforge download.  Do you have a popup blocker in place, perchance?
