Quick Question - SP1.1

I just installed YabbSE and would like to convert my SP1.1. I am wondering if the conversion process is going to disturb my current SP1.1. My forum is getting fairly active and I would like to keep it running until the conversion is complete. I am assuming that the converter is just reading the files and not actually doing anything to them, but I'd like to be sure before beginning.
