Invision Board to YaBBSE?

... I am wondering if anyone actually needs one?

I made part of the converter already and it converts the members to YaBBSE... but I just went through this board looking at topics and saw no topics asking for invision board to yse... should I continue this converter?

There was one a couple of days ago where someone else had started a conveter, maybe they'd be interested?

Well I am going to finish it seeing as it may be of some use to somebody.

I now have finished categories... all that is left is boards, topics, and posts, and instant messages.

Well my converter is complete. :)

But before I do anything with it, could someone send me a good sized invision board(data base dump) for me to test this thing with? I used a default board with hardly any posts/members and such and I want to be sure it will work with larger boards as well.

Well my converter is finished now... well except for comments on what you need to do and instuctions on how to use it. Should be done soon...

That´s great! I hope you can post this converter asap, cause we need it very much. It wasn´t possible for us to convert our invision board mannually, so we would be very thankfull!

Is it gonna be the kind of converter that still keeps the original database in tact so that if something goes wrong you can just keep re-trying? Or it it completely gonna wipe out the invision board database?

Nothing is deleted from the invision board tables. But all boards, categories, posts, topics, and members in the YaBBSE install will be erased before the conversion(this is to be sure no complications happen when converting).

I would switch to YaBB... but there is the big problem: I want everyon's passwords to stay the same... and your converter changes all of the passwords

The passwords have to change because Invision Board uses a different encryption method than YaBBSE does... so their old passwords will never work, and I can't convert the passwords(because it is a 1 way encryption)... it is possible to decrypt the password... but it would most likely bring your server down in the process which is why new passwords are assigned and e-mailed to the user.

Okay.. I tried to convert.. but I have 153 members, and only 133 were converted. All I really want is the members. It says everything was converted successfully, but really, a lot of members/topics/boards were missing.

Do you have any modifications installed?

Also what version of YaBBSE and Invision Board are you using?
