Showing Members in an IRC Room? Possible?

Is it possible to show how many people are in an irc room?  I have one set up with a link to it at the top of the forums and I was wondering if it is even possible to show how many people are in it?  If not php, is it possible in javascript or anything?

I found a script called PHP IRC but I can't seem to get it working.

you would need an irc bot controlled by php (It is possible, there are a few but they have very limited features) the bot could then add all the users who are online into a database or whatever...

I dont think there is a script already made.

Tried making an irc bot, but its a little hard for me to do, If anone can make one, It would be appreciated so my members can see who is in chat.

I know you have to use IRCG and sockets.  There are several examples on hotscripts.com.  I have been trying to get a couple of people to show me their scripts but they refuse :'(

I am working on this.  I had one working using mIRC, but that as reliable as having a script running on the server.  It is in php, I will post here if I get it working right.
