News Mod like in YaPP?????

I was wondering if there is already or if someone could possibly make a mod that would be like the news section in YaPP.

I don't really have a need for ANY of the other stuff in YaPP and don't really want to stray too far away from the original YaBB SE releases.

All I want is for the index to goto a news page by default then you can click on "forums" to goto the actual forums.

Don't need any of those side menus, downloads, etc...

Has anyone done this?  or know how hard it would be?

whoa I'm a moron if this has been here all a long and I've missed it for so long.

I don't recall seeing anything news related other than that fader thing... I'll have to look at this when my ISP goes back up.   Unfortunetely, Qwest seems to be having problems atm.
