Don't you just hate it when you go through many grueling steps to try to get something going and it all flops on you at the very last step?

Here's my problem: I installed PHP without any problems. Next came MySQL for Windows, and that had a crapload of problems. Finally I found the problem and fixed it after about two hours and I finally got to install YaBB SE.

I already have a nice little forum for my friends and family going on, and my intention is to grow with it. After all, the only way to gain experience with new stuff is to try it! ;D

So then I grabbed the little convertor, threw it into my YaBB SE directory, ran it, and got a ton of undefined variable errors. Need to see it for yourself?

http://eddy.homelinux.net:6969/converter.html

I have no clue what to do or what I'm doing (I admit I'm STUCK), and I see no installation notes or how-tos anywhere. The server is local, I'm using Win2k, and I really do appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks in advance!

Since the server is local, set register-globals to on for now and make sure you read the FAQ about errors in Windows.

Well, now I'm on step 4 (so I thank you for helping me out with that last problem), but Internet Explorer is in a state of "not responding"... for a relatively small forum (5 catagories, 8-10 boards, like 3 members cause I just started) how long would it take? Also, I've done a few mods... is it best to remove all the mods before I try to do the conversion? Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind! I fixed it... I just copied the YaBB folder temporarily under the YaBB SE folder. Worked like a champ! Thanks! ;D

Oh yeah! By register-globals I guess you meant register_globals... :D Just posting it up here in case someone else finds this little thread helpful! Thanks!
