Not being able to save on "Installed Mods and Settings" screen

After installing 1.4.0, I can no longer save the settings on the Installed mods and settings screen - Nothing I do saves anything, and if I go back, everything is back to their default values...

Everything worked fine in all earlier versions, so this problem has started with 1.4.

I have of course checked the FAQ board and followed the instructions there, without any difference.

The server is running PHP version 4.0.6 in safe-mode, and MySQL version is 3.23.36.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this? Or what has changed in 1.4.0 compared to earlier versions that could introduce this problem?

I think this was corrected in 1.4.1 which I think we're releasing shortly as I haven't heard anymore feedback on the issue.
