Using sockets

For the emailing, I think it would be best to use sockets.  Mail scripts are slow and timeout but with sockets they speed up and don't timeout until the socket does.  I have seen a couple of mailing scripts that use sockets.  Very nice idea ;)

I am looking into sockets right now so when I get a chance I will see how doable this is.  Also, this is a definate for those larger boards so it maybe a good idea for YSE2.

I never use notifications because of spam.  Is that what it looks like now or what you want it to look like?  What is the other option?

Other option? the first post was my idea... (stolen kinda from UBB and other popular bbs *coff*)  ;D but I find it frustrating when someone replies that you dont wanna read so importantly... yet go and check anyways because its so generic... know what I mean?

This is what  it looks like now
