Integrate photopost with yabbse (integrated gallery)

Hi guys,

I don't know how many of you would be interested in this, but I have been posting over on http://www.photopost.com about integrating their new php version with yabb.  They have integrated it with other BB's like Vbulletin, phpbb etc. so that you can use the forum user and messages db with their forums.  It makes the whole forum/gallery look very seamless.  It's an awesome product but they haven't built anything for Yabb SE yet.  

If you guys are interested, please go over to their site by following this link, and post your desire to have them build the software with YaBB SE.

The irony about this is that they have Spymac.com on their front page as an example of their product.  Spymac uses YaBB SE and they hacked it themselves.  I just thought it interesting that they would advertise a site that they can't support.  

Let me know what you guys think.  I love the software, but I'll be darned if I'm going to switch to another forum sw to use it.

photopost is not bad, but i prefer the number one in galleries! http://gallery.sourceforge.net

It makes use of NETPBM, so thumbnails are better rendered compared with other image libraries!

I'm only looking for the simplest form of gallery.

Here's my idea. Create a new catagory for "Galleries" In the topic listing it would display the thunb (created by the user) maybe 100x100. That wouild become the mesage icon. The existing attachment mechanism could be used. The posat new topic would provide 2 upload slots, one for the nail, one for the main image. If I knew more about PhP I'd do it.

Most of the graphics forums I frequent require the users to create their own thumbnails, the user has more control and the system is simpler.

Can it be done inside YaBBSE?

I was thinking of using a similair format to the polls, but haven't tried anything yet.

Yeah, I wish I knew even a little PHP, I know this would be a big hit. On the surface ir doesn't deem that it would be that hard to do.

I thought it would be a big hit too, but nobody here has really responded to this idea except for a couple of people.  Dont' know why either.  I think it would be an AWESOME mod.

I'm not sure, but couldn't this be done using ImageMagik (not sure about the spelling) to make the thumbnail?

Just one field to upload the large image then let imagemagik create the thumbnail?

I have a shopping cart that uses OSCommerce, and I believe some people are working on a way to do this with it.

I have imagemagik installed on my server, but I have no idea how to use it.  I only installed it in hopes that photopost would someday cover YaBB SE.  So far, no luck.
