Save thread to a file?

This is my first time in here so if this has been discussed before then please excuse my ignorance.  

I think being able to print a thread is really cool.  Sometimes I would also like to also save a thread to a file.  Currently I cut & paste the stuff into a text file.  Is there a better way?  If not does anyone thnk it would make a good feature to add?
