Has anyone considered a mod that lets yabb connect to LDAP for user authentication?

I am looking for forum software that can make use of an existing 16,000-user LDAP directory.

I don't think this has been suggessted before.  When YSE2 comes out I would guess they will implement the database calls via classess which would allow someone to write an LDAP module.  Currently there is too much cde that would have to be changed in order to implement it in a current version.
