I think it would be great to start from the beginning when creating your own forums.
What do you need to get your own yabbse working? I for e.g. have Windows ME working as server, Xitami web server, MySQL and PHP installed. I tried to install YaBBSE, without success. The webserver is working and Im able to log in to Xitami as user or administrator.
So from the start,
1. I installed Windows ME with some adjustments to make it run faster, loaded all necessary updates.
2. I checked the connection to ISP and got connection working as it should, I have LAN connection.
3. I installed Xitami and the webserver started working without any problems, no errors or anything.
4. I installed MySQL and it seems to be working also, at least all databases are found and can be accessed.
5. Started installing PHP, but I am not sure if it installs correctly. Files are found but the installation does not go anywhere, at the "start screen" it says Installation complete before making any settings.
6. And now i installed YABBSE, I have tried many ways to access the .php files included but I am unable to open them. It does not find the files even if they are located at correct place (xitami/webpages/) all other .php or .htm files work ok.
I also got some error message when I tried to check out localhost/install.php or localhost/yabbse/install.php.
I can post error message here if needed.
Anyone want to help with this? Is there any place where you could start from the beginning and get some help?
