strange characters?

Even is I use e.g.

&euml I still get weird symbols... like © when I want to use ë etc.?

I've edited the dutch.lng file to contain these character codes. I've also tried it with just the regular letters ë etc. but to no avail?

Anyone any idea what this problem could mean?

to be exact, send private message looks like this:

"Stuur dit lid een privé boodschap."

this "strange characters" are entities which would apaer if you not use the correct char set! best would be you but in your template meta tags to change this!
