Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I searched for it and couldn't find any results. I came across one thread in mid-March that said that Read-Only forums would be added in 1.3.0. I have that version but I don't see any options to make it so now that I have 1.3.0. It would be cool if the Announcements Forum could only have announcements posted by Admins.

If I'm just missing something, let me know. Or maybe there's a mod to install with the option.

Thanks a lot.

Normal users can't start new threads in Annoucement boards. If you don't want them to reply at all you can lock the threads after you post them.

Actually I just logged out and made a post on the Announcements Forum I setup as a guest. You can lock threads as an admin after you post them but if people are going to make new threads on an announcements forum it kind of defeats the purpose of having a specific board for IMPORTANT announcements and not people's commentary on important things.

UNless you want to make an announcement and get feedback on it.  Can always post the announcement and then lock it.
