Installation problems...

I tried to install YaBB se and could not get it to work.

I got all the way up to the part where I tell the installation my MySQL stuff and then after I enter it, it will say something about not being able to set up MySQl but was able to connect to it.

If yall need to know my host is www.eperfect.net with plan 3.

Also my site is located at www.agigames.com

Please help me out. I am sick of proboards with their stupid ads.

If you managed to connect to the database server but couldn't do anything, check both the database name and the login credentials.

perhaps you could post the exact error message?

Alright I will try it again and see what the error message says.

Alright here is the message it gives me:

Cannot use database yabbse, connection to server succeeded by the way.

Check your database name, Yabbse is the default one, you may have access to create that database, but check with your host what your database name is.

Man, I am still having the same problem, I don't know why but I can install other boards but I can't seem to get YaBBse to install.

I know I have all the requirments, I have set up a few php/MySQL things before like: www.agigames.com/chat/ and also an xmb board which really sucks.

May I bump this as I have the exact same problem. The yabbse database can't be created to I tried the existing one but that one won't work either. I do not have problems installing other boards though.

I have figured out how to solve the problem on my own as you can see by going to www.agigames.com/yabbse/

The problem was that I was using the database name yabbse. Then I realized all my other programs that use MySQL had names like agigames_pcchat for there names so I changed it to agigames_yabbse when installing and it worked perfectly.

I am so happy. All I need to do now is upload the bug fix and I am all set.

Also hope this helps you figure out your problem if not maybe someone else here can help you.

funny how it was just a silly little thing that kept you from installing YaBB SE.

Yeah that was pretty silly, too bad nobody cared to mention to me that some domains need a prefix like mine agigames_yabbse for it to work. But now I am really happy. I have gotten the colors set to my liking and am ready for it to be launched publicly.

Well, I still can't get it to work   I am with Tripod and I can't figure out what my prefix could be. Guess I will have to do without a yabb board. Thanks anyway. Keep up the great work with the board. I think it's the best there is - if you can get it installed
