I've made a mod that replaces the location text box in the profile with a drop-down box containing a list of many countries. In the user's profile this is displayed along with a flag of the country. It looks really good and I'm using it on my forum. Is there any interest in this, if so I'll release it as a mod.

Yeah, that could be cool.  But also let people type in their own location if they don't want one in the list.

Hmm the only problem with that is the link to the flag will be broken

Yeah but I like putting in things like "Everywhere" or "There" or "Online" or other dumb things like that.

Put the countries into an array, and check if the name entered in in array ( if in_array() ) and if it isn't just leave it blank.
So:
if ($country == "") { echo ""; } else { echo "<img src=$country".".jpg>"; }

etc.
